Beta Carotene, what it is and what it is used for
Beta-carotene is a component present in several commonly used vegetables, such as carrots themselves, but not only.
Closely linked to the pigmentation of the vegetables themselves, they give them the normal colour visible to the naked eye.
Its main function is to be a powerful antioxidant , which protects the plants themselves from aging and possible diseases.
Its function mimics the same effect also in humans, where beta-carotene, converted into vitamin A through a series of chemical reactions, exerts its protective function.
Particularly important in maintaining the health of the visual system and delaying the loss of degrees , caused by physiological aging, but it is not limited to this area only.
The antioxidant function also extends to the skin and the maintenance of a good immune system.
